Main / Media / News / The Egypt Government Excellence Award Committee Convenes in Al-Buhaira Governorate

23 March 2024

The Egypt Government Excellence Award convened an internal awards arbitration committee meeting in Al-Buhaira Governorate to review the evaluation process outcomes and oversee arbitration proceedings for the local units' internal awards within the governorate. Present at the meeting were Soha Said, the executive director of the award, Dr. Abdelhakim Radwan, an evaluation and quality consultant, Dr. Yasser Kahlot, a professor at the Maritime Academy for Science and Technology, Engineer Abdel Salam Abdel Samei, a quality and excellence expert, and Dr. Abdel Azim Harb, the team leader.

In her opening remarks, Soha Said highlighted that the implementation of the internal awards system in governmental entities across the state is driven by the Egypt Government Excellence Award management's commitment to realizing the objectives of Egypt's Vision 2030 and supporting the state's initiatives to foster a culture of excellence and institutional development. This initiative aims to enhance citizens' quality of life and bolster the leadership and competitiveness of the Egyptian state. Consequently, the award management has extended the application of the internal excellence awards system to include local units in various governorates, including Al-Buhaira, Al-Minya, and South Sinai, in its second edition. This expansion aims to embed and sustain a culture of excellence across all sectors and catalyze a qualitative improvement in institutional performance, while also preparing entities to vie for the national award, the "Egypt Government Excellence Award," in its fourth edition in 2024.

Soha Said underscored the importance of establishing an excellence unit within the governorate and investing in outstanding individuals who have contributed to the success of the governorate's internal excellence system.

Major General Mohamed Shoukry, the Secretary-General of the Governorate, highlighted that the Egypt Government Excellence Award serves as a catalyst for administrative reform and sustainable development in Egypt. By maximizing the state's material and human resources, it aims to deliver better services to citizens and enhance their quality of life. He commended the support extended by the award management during the rollout stages of the internal excellence system in the governorate.

It is noteworthy that 14 nominations were submitted for the "Center and City" category, and 9 nominations for the "Villages" category within the governorate to qualify for the top five field visit stages, marking the commencement of heightened competition at the national level for the Egypt Government Excellence Award in its current edition in 2024.
