Egypt Government Excellence Award Committee Convenes for Internal Awards at Suez Canal University

The Egypt Government Excellence Award held a meeting of the internal excellence awards arbitration committee at Suez Canal University in its first edition to follow up on the final arbitration process for the internal awards at the university. This meeting was attended by Dr. Nasser Mandour, President of Suez Canal University, Soha Said, the executive director of the award, Dr. Ashraf Abdel Basit, the academic president of Hertfordshire University, and Dr. Mohamed Abdel Salam, the director of institutional awards at the Egypt Government Excellence Award.
During the meeting, Soha Said, the executive director of the Egypt Government Excellence Award, highlighted the expansion witnessed by the award in implementing the internal excellence system at the university level in its two editions, now including 13 universities out of a total of 27 government universities, with the aim of deepening the culture of institutional excellence in all government entities and achieving a qualitative leap in institutional performance, preparing entities to participate in the national award "Egypt Government Excellence Award" in its fourth edition in 2024.
Soha Said also emphasized that universities are among the most important tools for development in society, not only for their leading role in education and scientific research but also as beacons of knowledge and innovation.
Dr. Nasser Mandour, the President of Suez Canal University, praised in his speech the fruitful cooperation between the university and the Egypt Government Excellence Award, expressing his appreciation for the relationship between the two sides and the university's constant commitment to providing all support and resources available to develop the skills and capabilities of university affiliates in all fields. He commended the efforts made by the award during the previous period, emphasizing the importance of deepening the culture of excellence, improving performance, and developing capabilities, which have been reflected in the university's performance and efficiency in activating its internal excellence system.
Dr. Ashraf Abdel Basit praised the university's leadership for driving the excellence journey in the university and its various faculties.
It is worth noting that 11 faculties have applied for institutional excellence awards in the "Governmental Faculties" category. Five faculties have qualified for the field visits stage after internal competition to win Suez Canal University's internal excellence award, in preparation for the top three winners to compete at the national level in the upcoming 2024 edition of the Egypt Government Excellence Award.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Hazem Sharaf Eldin, consultant for training and quality assurance, Israa Hassanein, responsible for specialized awards at the Egypt Government Excellence Award, Dr. Mohamed Saad Zaghloul, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Dr. Sohair Abu Aisha, Secretary-General of the University, and Dr. Rafik Abdel Rahman, a professor at the Faculty of Agriculture.
