Egypt’s NIGSD , GRIPS celebrate the graduation of the 1st batch of the training program "Reliable and Effective Government"

The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, (NIGSD)the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, celebrated recently the graduation of the first batch of the "Reliable and Effective Government" training program offered by the National Higher Institute for Political Studies in Japan, (GRIPS), in cooperation with the Institute.
During her speech, Dr. Sherifa El-Sherif, Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, explained that the institute had concluded a memorandum of understanding (MoU)with the Higher National Institute for Political Studies in Japan, (GRIPS).
She added that in light of this cooperation, the graduation of the first group of 15 government employees in the training program “A reliable and effective government was celebrated.”
The program was presented over three training days in which the trainees participated in discussion sessions.
El-Sherif indicated that this program is the first of a set of future training programs to deepen cooperation between the two institutes and to build national cadres capable of pushing Egypt forward in governance and sustainable development indicators.
She added that the program's goal is to invest in the human factor and enhance participants' understanding of the concepts of governance, good management and combating corruption.
El-Sherif indicated that the program addressed the topics of trust in government, good governance and related regulations, as well as ethics and anti-corruption.
El-Sherif concluded her speech by stressing the importance of investing in the human factor to support the reform and construction process in the development path towards achieving Vision 2030.
