The Egypt Government Excellence Award held a meeting for Tanta University's internal excellence awards judging committee via video conference, chaired by Ambassador Hisham Badr, Assistant Minister of Planning and Economic Development for Strategic Partnerships, Excellence, Initiatives, and the General Supervisor of the Award. The meeting was attended by Dr. Mahmoud Zaki, President of Tanta University, Dr. Ashraf Abdel Basset, Academic President of the University of Hertfordshire, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Rabea, Dean of the Productivity and Quality Institute at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport, Soha Said, Executive Director of the Egypt Government Excellence Award, to oversee the final adjudication process for the university's internal awards in its second edition.


During the opening session, Ambassador Hisham Badr commended the university's commitment to activating its internal excellence system for the second consecutive year and the continuous cooperation and coordination with the award management to disseminate and deepen the culture of excellence and institutional development across its distinguished faculties and staff. He praised the university's prominent achievements and wise leadership in adopting the concept of promoting a culture of excellence and implementing a fundamental approach to enhancing administrative performance at the university, as well as activating the "Management by Objectives" initiative.


Ambassador Hisham Badr also congratulated Dr. Mahmoud Zaki, President of Tanta University, on the university's success in winning the Egypt Government Excellence Award in its third edition in 2022 at the institutional level, winning the distinguished websites award, and at the individual level, where one of its employees, Gamal Hamza, secured the second place for Best General Manager.


Dr. Mahmoud Zaki expressed his appreciation for the cooperative relationship between the university and the Egypt Government Excellence Award, praising the efforts made by the award throughout the previous period. He emphasized the importance of deepening the culture of excellence, which reflected on the university's performance and efficiency in activating its internal excellence system. He pointed out that the university's experience in restructuring its administrative and financial system for centers, units, and special accounts according to the Management by Objectives model contributes to the development of institutional performance at the university to support the Sustainable Development Plan 2030.


It's worth noting that 12 faculties in the "Governmental Faculties" category have progressed to the field visit stage, with 5 faculties qualifying for the Egypt Government Excellence Award competition in its fourth edition in 2024.


The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Hussein, Vice President of the University for Student Affairs and Head of the Internal Award Management Team, Dr. Abdel Hakim Radwan, Evaluation and Quality Consultant, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Salam, Director of Institutional Awards, and Israa Hassanein, Director of Specialized Awards at the Egypt Government Excellence Award.
