Main / Media / News / Egypt-UAE Forge Deeper Governmental Development Ties

12 February 2024

In a significant development at the World Government Summit held in the UAE, Dr. Hala El Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, alongside Mohamed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs in the UAE, marked an important milestone by extending the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two nations in the realm of government work development.

The signing ceremony, graced by the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, epitomized the enduring commitment of Egypt and the UAE to fortify their bilateral relations and foster collaborative frameworks aimed at fortifying institutional capacities and enhancing governance practices.

The MoU extension, stemming from the original agreement penned in 2018, underscores the evolution and deepening of the partnership between the two countries. Dr. El Said highlighted the pivotal role played by the MoU in aligning the shared objectives of Egypt and the UAE, particularly in areas concerning capacity building and institutional growth. The extension, echoing the success of the Strategic Partnership Agreement in Government Modernization inked in 2018, seeks to establish an exemplary model of cooperation in government affairs.

With Egypt Vision 2030 as a guiding beacon, the Egyptian government remains steadfast in its pursuit of institutional excellence, operational efficiency, and global competitiveness. Dr. El Said reiterated the government's unwavering commitment to fostering innovation and sustainable development across various sectors and services. Such collaborative agreements are instrumental in actualizing the broader goals outlined in Egypt's strategic vision.

The extended memorandum outlines a comprehensive roadmap to further deepen collaboration between Egypt and the UAE in government work development. It encompasses a wide array of initiatives aimed at enhancing institutional capabilities, promoting innovation-driven solutions, and fostering sustainable practices. The extended timeline of cooperation, stretching until February 28, 2026, signifies a long-term commitment to mutual growth and prosperity.

This extension stands as a testament to the enduring partnership between Egypt and the UAE, poised to chart new frontiers in government excellence and innovation, setting a precedent for constructive collaboration on the global stage.
