The Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Hala El-Said, leaders and employees of the administrative capital of New Valley Governorate, visited the governorate to inaugurate and inspect several development projects. The meeting was attended by General Mohamed Al-Zomlout, Governor of the New Valley, Mohamed El-Etriby, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banque Misr, Yahya Abu Al-Fattouh, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Egypt, Dr. Hiba Moghib, Supervisor of the Ministry's Regional Planning Sector, Dr. Mohamed Alokabi, Media Adviser to the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.
During the meeting, Dr. Hala El-Said noted that the New Valley Governorate is characterized by the existence of some development projects, stating that development is real at the governorate level through projects on the ground, referring to model village projects, agricultural projects around the governorate, medical and educational services projects, the distinguished government services complex and other projects in the governorate.
El-Said also stressed that the success of the New Valley governorate in the existence of this number of developed projects is due to the existence of outstanding leadership and the efficiency of the workers in the governorate. She explained that the governorate of the New Valley is characterized by the presence of natural components with great availability of solar energy in the governorate, which contributed to the establishment of a solar power plant, becoming one of the leading governorates in providing renewable solar energy.
El-Said explained that the New Valley is a unique model in the development of government buildings, it is the only province that has a complex of government services in this distinct and sophisticated form.
The Minister of Planning and Economic Development praised the role of working women in the governorates, commending the role of distinguished women leading the development process in the New Valley which comes as part of the governorate's efforts to empower Egyptian women. She also explained that the governorate received first place prizes in several initiatives and competitions such as the Egypt Government Excellence Awards and received awards for the Best Center, Best Village, and Best Civil Servant, In addition having the Rural Green Housing project win the first place prize as the best small local project in the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects.
