The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development celebrates the graduation of its third class of the program "Leading Change in Dynamic Organizations" in cooperation with the American University in Cairo

The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, celebrated, in cooperation with the American University in Cairo (AUC), the graduation of the third class of the training program “Leading Change in Dynamic Organizations” for 86 senior leaders in the country’s administrative apparatus, representing 12 government agencies, in the presence of Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of NIGSD, Dr. Sherif Kamel, Dean of the University’s College of Business Administration, and Dr. Noha Al-Makkawi, Dean of the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy.
During her speech at the closing ceremony, Dr. Sherifa Sherif congratulated the graduates on passing the first stage of the program, wishing them success and excellence, noting that the training program comes in two stages, covers many topics such as public policy analysis, strategic management in the governmental field, and leadership and institutional reform. Also, Sherif indicated that the second phase of the program is scheduled to be completed in cooperation between the NIGSD and the Thunderbird College of International Management of Arizona State University in the United States of America, under the title “Innovative Governance in the Digital Age,” which is provided as a grant from the Institute with the aim of enhancing capacity and raising competencies. Participants will undergo 5 training days to empower them at the level of leadership of institutions in line with the strategic priorities of the Egyptian state.
The graduation ceremony witnessed the presentation of 15 policy papers by participants in several administrative, judicial, and financial fields, including a paper covering the efficiency and effectiveness of social protection programs, another on financial inclusion (savings and loans) for rural women in Egypt, a paper on legislative obstacles and social issues facing domestic workers, and a paper on the financial inclusion of females in rural areas.
It is noteworthy that the government agencies participating in the “Leading Change in Dynamic Organizations” program include the Presidency of the Republic, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Ministries of Planning and Economic Development, Transport, Finance, Tourism, Electricity, Justice, Communications and Information Technology, Education, Health, and the National Council for Women, the Central Auditing Organization, the Administrative Prosecution Authority, the Administrative Control Authority, the State Lawsuits Authority, the Industrial Development Authority, the Egyptian Medicine Authority, Mansoura University, and Ain Shams University. The celebration was attended by Mr. Nabil Fouad, Director General of Human Resources and Business Development NIGSD, and Ms. Amani El-Deeb, Director of the International Cooperation Department.
