Ministers and Governor Inspect Misr Railway Station Square Redevelopment Project in Alexandria

H.E. Dr. Hala El Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, along with General Hisham Amna, Minister of Local Development, and General Mohamed El Sherif, Governor of Alexandria, inspected on Sunday the Misr Railway Station Square redevelopment project in Alexandria. The visit took place during the inauguration of Egypt Services Center in the governorate.
Dr. Hala El Said emphasized the importance of localizing sustainable development goals in provinces, aligning with the state's focus on maximizing the benefits of Egypt's diverse regions. This strategic approach aims to achieve inclusive and balanced development, a key pillar of Egypt's Vision 2030. She highlighted the current fiscal year's economic and social development plan, stressing the significance of spatial justice in healthcare, education, and resource utilization.
El Said explained that the Egypt Square redevelopment project is part of the local development initiatives in Alexandria, totaling 307 projects with a budget of 1.2 billion Egyptian pounds for the fiscal year 2023/2024. The Egypt Square project cost 227 million pounds and was completed in 9 months.
Governor of Alexandria underscored the national importance of the Misr Railway Station Square project, considering it a reflection of the leadership's special attention to this historical square, situated in the oldest part of Alexandria. He emphasized that the project aligns with the state's vision to eliminate informal markets and street vendors, promoting the establishment of civilized markets.
The event was attended by officials including Assistant Minister of Justice for Notary and Real Estate Documentation Affairs, Counselor Ashraf Hegazy, and Assistant Minister of Justice for Affairs of the General Authority for Court Buildings, Counselor Rabie Qasem. Other attendees included Dr. Ahmed Gamal, Dr. Jacqueline Azar, Deputy Governors of Alexandria, and representatives from various governmental bodies and institutions involved in the project.
