21 January 2024

On the sidelines of the Egypt Services Center inauguration in Alexandria on January 21, 2024, Dr. Hala El Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, General Hisham Amna, Minister of Local Development, and General Mohamed El Sherif, Governor of Alexandria, conducted an inspection of the Roman Museum development project and its surroundings.

This visit coincided with the center's opening in the province today. Dr. Hala El Said emphasized the Roman Museum development project's role in preserving cultural heritage, a fundamental aspect of civilized societies. The initiative aims to diversify cultural products and elevate the quality of cultural services, crucial for the development of intellectual properties and creative capacities for individuals and society as a whole, providing a fundamental component for achieving comprehensive and sustainable development.

El Said highlighted the importance of preserving cultural heritage, fostering awareness internally and externally, and empowering cultural industries to become sources of growth and foundations for Egypt's soft power, both regionally and internationally. This aligns with enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of cultural institutions, making their services accessible to all segments of society.

General Mohamed El Sherif emphasized that the reopening of the Roman-Greek Museum and the comprehensive development of its surroundings rank among the most significant projects in tourism development in Alexandria. He affirmed that the Roman-Greek Museum is one of the most important and oldest tourist landmarks in Alexandria, showcasing rare artifacts representing a crucial historical period in Egypt and the world. The project is expected to create a new attraction for tourism in the governorate, both globally and locally.

The event saw the presence of Counselor Ashraf Hegazy, Assistant Minister of Justice for Documentation and Real Estate Notarization, Counselor Rabie Qasim, Assistant Minister of Justice for the Affairs of the General Authority for Court Buildings, Dr. Ahmed Jamal, Dr. Jacqueline Azar, Deputy Governors of Alexandria, Hossam Heiba, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, and other officials from various government bodies.
