Ministerial Summit: Dr. Hala El Said and Dr. Ashraf Sobhi Discuss Egypt's Olympic Games City Operations

Dr. Hala El Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, convened with Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, to discuss the operational progress of Egypt's Olympic Games City in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting included key figures from the Ministries of Planning and Economic Development, Youth and Sports, and Finance.
Commending the efforts to complete Egypt's International City for Olympic Games, Dr. Hala El Said highlighted its significance as a premier sports complex established by the Egyptian state. She emphasized the ongoing oversight through a series of meetings.
Dr. Hala El Said stressed that the city is a vital addition to Egypt's sports landscape, representing the largest sports facility in the Middle East with comprehensive components and services. She underscored the youth and sports sector's importance in contributing to sustainable development goals, noting its role as a cornerstone for youth development through physical education.
Regarding the 2023/2024 plan targets for the youth and sports sector, El Said detailed approximately 339 projects, comprising 159 completion projects and 180 projects slated for completion during the plan year.
Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, affirmed the significance of Egypt's International City for Olympic Games in the New Administrative Capital as a distinguished sports facility recently established by the Egyptian state. He highlighted its status as a new generation of smart sports facilities, covering 468 acres, with a stadium accommodating 92,000 spectators, two covered halls with a total capacity of 23,000 spectators, and complexes for various sports.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhi emphasized the city's readiness to host the African Games and future Olympic Games, aligning with Egypt's commitment to international sports standards. He confirmed the leadership's dedication to ensuring Egypt's sports facilities meet the highest global standards.
The minister discussed Egypt's extensive experience in economic development through youth and sports services, focusing on self-financing, innovative economic systems, and strategic relationships with civil society and the private sector.
Highlighting Egypt's Vision for Sustainable Development 2030, Minister Sobhi expressed gratitude to the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces for constructing this landmark in sports excellence.
