In a significant stride toward advancing economic empowerment, the Ministers of Planning and Economic Development, Communications, and Information Technology witnessed the signing of a pivotal cooperation protocol. This protocol, inked between the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and the National Postal Authority (Egypt Post), focuses on implementing economic empowerment initiatives under the national project for the development of Egyptian families.
Minister Hala El Said of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and Minister Amr Talaat of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology underscored the strategic importance of this collaboration. The signing ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. Sherif Farouk, the Chairman of the Board of the National Postal Authority.
The protocol, a pioneering initiative under the national project for the development of Egyptian families, seeks to fortify the economic empowerment of women. It outlines the provision of financial and non-financial services by the Egyptian Postal Service to women identified by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and the National Women's Council.
Minister Hala El Said highlighted the project's innovative approach to addressing population issues and improving the overall characteristics of the population. She stressed its specific focus on enhancing the status of women and improving the quality of life for Egyptian families. The Minister emphasized the integral role of population policies in sustaining positive developmental outcomes.
Minister Amr Talaat emphasized the significance of collaboration between the ministries and the National Postal Authority in achieving economic and human development, particularly for women in rural areas. He underscored the adaptability of the Egyptian Postal Service in providing diverse services and its initiatives to develop digital skills for women in rural areas.
The protocol introduces a streamlined process for notifying the National Postal Authority of women interested in financial and non-financial services through the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the National Women's Council. It encompasses benefits such as complimentary savings accounts, waived administrative fees for one year, issuance of electronic payment cards without fees, loyalty program benefits, and discounts during promotional campaigns.
This collaborative effort between the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, the Ministry of Communications, and the National Postal Authority is a significant leap toward advancing economic empowerment in the country. It involves the opening of savings accounts, issuance of electronic payment cards, and the provision of various benefits to women as part of the national project for the development of Egyptian families.
The National Postal Authority will play a pivotal role in facilitating the registration of family data in the unified system, ensuring seamless and high-quality service delivery nationwide.
