NIGSD, UNU-EGOV launch training program for Egypt’s state employees on “Digital Governance in Public Administration”

The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), in cooperation with the United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV) based in Portugal, launched a specialized training program entitled “Digital Governance in Public Administration” for 25 trainees from 9 entities of Egypt’s state administrative apparatus.
Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of NIGSD said that the implementation of the “Digital Governance in Public Administration” program comes within the framework of the cooperation protocol signed between NIGSD and UNU-EGOV.
Dr. Sherifa explained that the “Digital Governance in Public Administration” program includes a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical training on several training topics aimed at identifying how to create public value through government digitization efforts and mastering the basic concepts and processes associated with strategic planning and analysis for e-government.
The program also includes training on the main evaluation and monitoring techniques for the field of electronic administration, including defining and using appropriate sets of indicators and learning about the function of technology in government institutions.
NIGSD Executive Director stressed that the implementation of the program comes as a continuation of the approach followed by NIGSD in implementing distinguished international training programs, which come in cooperation with the most prestigious international universities and institutes.
