NIGSD, BIPA directors meet to discuss boosting future cooperation

Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) - the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, met with Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Director General of the Institute for Public Administration (BIPA) in the State of Bahrain, to discuss ways to enhance joint future cooperation.
The meeting came on the sidelines of the joint international conference between the Middle East and North Africa Organization for Public Administration Research (MENAPAR) and the Association for Public Policy and Public Administration in the Middle East (AMEPA), under the title “Politics, Governance, and Leadership in Times of Crises in MENA” Which was organized and hosted by the American University in Cairo (AUC) during December.
During the meeting, Dr. Sherifa Sherif referred to the vision of NIGSD, the range of training programs it offers in the field of governance and sustainable development, and the partnerships it has concluded with major centers and universities at the local and international levels to provide the best training services.
Sherifa also reviewed NIGSD’s role in enhancing and developing Egypt’s position in the field of governance and sustainable development, in addition to providing consultations, research, and training programs that seek to spread the culture, values, and practices of sustainability.
For her part, Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Director General of the Institute for Public Administration (BIPA) asserted that the (BIPA) is keen to strengthen bilateral cooperation with NIGSD, given the presence of many common visions about promoting and disseminating the culture, values, and practices of sustainability and activating governance mechanisms.
Shaikha Rana bint Isa explained that enhancing opportunities for scientific and research cooperation between the two sides would contribute to developing human cadres, raising their efficiency, and providing them with information, expertise, and skills related to the fields of governance and sustainable development.
