Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of NIGSD, explained that the secondary stage activities of the Green Minds Initiative “Green Leader” are implemented over 4 days, including three training days connected to the camp.
Sherifa added that the camp activities aim to include a series of lectures, experiential learning, and interactive activities that focus on the UN SDGs, including the complete elimination of hunger, quality education, clean water and hygiene, clean and affordable energy, decent work, and economic growth.
Sherifa noted that the fourth day of the camp comes after 20 days of training during which the students brainstorm and prepare their projects.
The activities of the fourth day of the training camp also witness the presentation of students’ projects and ideas for development initiatives to serve their communities, and they are provided with consultations in the field of entrepreneurship.
The training camp targeted students from 3 schools in each governorate, with a total of 180 male and female students, and was implemented in the city of Burj Al Arab.
