On Cop 28 Sidlesines: Amb. Hisham Badr holds several meetings with international officials to discuss ways of cooperation

Ambassador Hisham Badr who is acting as Assistant of Planning Minister for Strategic Partnerships, Excellence, and Initiatives, the General Coordinator of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects held several bilateral meetings with international officials to discuss ways of cooperation to support the initiative.
The event took place during Cop28 which is currently being held starting from November 30 to December 12, 2023, in Dubai.
Ambassador Hisham Badr began the bilateral meeting with Gerd Müller, Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), with the participation of the winning projects of the second session of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, and the initiative’s work team.
During the meeting, Ambassador Hisham Badr stressed his keenness to partner with UNIDO, praising the support provided by the organization to the projects participating in the initiative.
He further explained that UNIDO will adopt a showcase of the initiative to the world to benefit from the Egyptian experience through it.
For his part, Müller hailed the initiative and the quality of the winning projects in the second round of the initiative, explaining that youth are the solution and inspiration for the future.
Müller also stated that UNIDO will work as a platform to promote the winning projects of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects worldwide, help them find financing opportunities for the projects, and support them to ensure the development of their projects.
During the meeting, the owners of the winning projects presented a brief overview of their projects, which won praise from the President of UNIDO.
Ambassador Hisham Badr also met with Jeffrey D. Sachs, the director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University to review the goals and principles of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects and a summary of the winning projects.
For his part, Sachs praised the initiative and its innovative projects, stressing his keenness to provide support for the projects while working to network them with financing bodies to expand the projects and ensure their sustainability.
The group of meetings included a meeting that included Ambassador Hisham Badr, Abdul Rahim Sultan, Director General of the World Green Economy Organization, and Jerome Osher, Senior Director of the World Green Economy Organization.
The meeting discussed concluding bilateral partnerships, and discussed cooperation with the initiative, with its expertise and projects, by providing the necessary support in providing the necessary training programs and financing opportunities for these projects.
Ambassador Hisham Badr concluded his meetings by discussing ways of cooperation with Mr. Mohamed Al-Suwaidi, President of the Federation of Industries in Egypt. During the meeting, Badr reviewed the goals and principles of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, the winning projects of the second round of the initiative.
Ambassador Hisham Badr referred to the 18 winning projects in the second cycle of the initiative and their uniqueness in finding real and innovative solutions.
Al Suwaidi praised the winning projects, explaining the importance of holding a meeting in the presence of the winning projects in the second round of the initiative and with the participation of some investors, in addition to studying some projects and considering the possibility of partnering with them.
