NIGSD, UNU organize a training program entitled “Digital Governance of the Egyptian Judiciary” for Egyptian judicial employees in Portugal

The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, in cooperation with the United Nations University (UNU), held a specialized training program under the title “Digital Governance of the Egyptian Judiciary” for members of judicial authorities and bodies in Portugal.
The training program will continue during the period from 21-29 November of this year, for 25 members of judicial authorities and bodies in the city of Guimaraes, Portugal.
Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of NIGSD said that the implementation of the program comes as a continuation of the approach followed by NIGSD in implementing distinguished international training programs that come in cooperation with the most prestigious international universities and institutes.
The implementation of this program also comes as one of the activities of the project to support and enhance the principles of governance and good management in the judicial system in the Arab Republic of Egypt (the Judicial Governance Project) implemented within the framework of the cooperation protocol in the fields of governance and administrative development.
Sherif added that the program aims to learn about the concept of E-courts and the new possibilities for achieving justice compared to traditional courts and to explore and understand recent trends in adopting artificial and digital intelligence across justice systems.
Counselor Mustafa Ahmed Kamal, the legal advisor to NIGSD and responsible for implementing the project activities, delivered the opening speech for the program on behalf of Mrs. Dr. Sherifa Sherif, NIGSD’s Executive Director.
The training program includes a mixture of theoretical knowledge and practical training on several training topics, including studying the foundations of digital transformation, and the role of digital transformation in supporting and enhancing access to justice, responsibility, and transparency in the judicial system.
