On behalf of Egypt's First Lady Entissar El Sisi: The Minister of Planning and Economic Development participates in the “United for Peace in Palestine” summit in Turkey

H.E. Egyptian Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Hala El-Said, attended the "United for Peace in Palestine" summit organized by the Office of the Turkish Presidency in Istanbul on behalf of Egypt's First Lady Entissar El Sisi.

Türkiye's First Lady Emine Erdoğan addressed the “United for Peace in Palestine” Summit, with the participation of the spouses of heads of state and government and special representatives from numerous countries.

In her speech, Dr. Hala El-Said thanked Türkiye's First Lady Emine Erdoğan for hosting the conference at a critical and decisive time that requires a strong stance and quick intervention to end Israel's brutal insults and attacks against the Palestinian people.

  El-Said stressed that what the defenseless Palestinian people are now facing, including oppression, continuous brutal bombing, a strong siege, forced displacement, and lack of consideration for any humanitarian considerations, is an international crime that will not be erased easily.

She further said that the position of the Arab Republic of Egypt has been completely clear from the beginning of the crisis until now, as Egypt was the first to take the initiative to call for the Cairo Peace Summit.

  Egypt also strongly rejects the displacement of the Palestinian people, or part of them, to other areas inside or outside its lands in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip, according to El-Said.

 “Israel has no right, based on any flimsy and illegitimate justifications, to change the demographic distribution in a way that affects defenseless civilians, with catastrophic consequences for the humanitarian situation” El-Said explained.

El-Said also pointed out Israel's flagrant violations of international humanitarian law by deliberately obstructing humanitarian aid of all kinds from the Rafah crossing.

The Minister of Planning and Economic Development asserted that Egypt strongly warns against any attempts to liquidate the Palestinian issue at the expense of the countries of the region and the expense of the rights of the Palestinian people.

 “The time has come to activate the various United Nations mechanisms to fairly investigate the grave violations of international law taking place in the Gaza Strip,” she said.

  El-Said called on the international community to unite around a basic demand, which is an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, and quickly allowing safe, rapid, and sustainable humanitarian access, using all crossings, including Israeli crossings.

El-Said said that Palestinian women have been suffering for decades from the illegal policies and practices of the Israeli occupation, as they and their children are systematically and violently forced to leave their homes and homelands, which brings disastrous consequences on their lives, on their enjoyment of their human rights, and the prospects for a healthy and safe life and human rights.

El-Said concluded her speech by stressing the importance of coming together to end this disaster, saying, “The world and the region have seen enough disasters and crises in recent years. Our people can no longer achieve their just demands and legal rights to development in those unjust and inhumane conditions."
