The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development has announced the availability of the updated version of Egypt Vision 2030 on its website www.mped.gov.eg.

H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development said that the Egypt Vision 2030 represents the compass for the Egyptian state’s direction in achieving sustainable development in its various economic, social, and environmental dimensions. 


The state adopts plans and programs to implement its goals by focusing on the concepts of containment, and sustainable and balanced local development, according to El-Said.


El-Said explained that due to the international and regional changes witnessed in recent years, the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development has sought to update the first version of the vision through a participatory process with the participation of all actors and development partners from government agencies, representatives of the private sector and civil society.


El-Said stated that the main pillars represented in the four guiding principles of the implementation of the goals were outlined in the updated vision, considering that the success of the development process at any time and in any place is mainly related to the fact that people are the focus of development.








El-Said added that the vision put seven necessary possible possibilities to reach sustainable development and achieve targets effectively and efficiently in 2030, which are "Providing Financing", "Achieving Technological Progress and Innovation", "Promoting Digital Transformation", "Producing and Making Data" and "Creating a Supportive Legislative and Institutional environment”


Dr. Ahmed Kamali, Deputy Minister of Planning and Economic Development, said that there is a set of main determinants of the process of updating the Egypt Vision 2030 which includes confirming the interdependence between the dimensions of sustainable development, implementing the vision and its strategic and public goals in a manner consistent with the UN Agenda for Sustainable Development 2030 and the African Agenda 2063 (Agenda 2063).


For its part, Dr. Mona Essam, Assistant Minister of Planning for Sustainable Development Affairs referred to the efforts of the Sustainable Development Unit team at the Ministry of Planning to update Egypt's Vision 2030.


She highlighted to the formation of 28 teams in the field of sustainable development in all ministries, and holding 60 workshops with various ministries and entities.


 The efforts of the Sustainable Development Unit team also included the modernization methodology of 28 sectoral worksheets, an assembled paper at the national level, identifying economic, social, and environmental gaps with the first edition and formulating working papers to fill these gaps, in addition to integrating the inputs of all working papers, formulating the updated vision and reviewing them, and presenting the vision for discussion in the national dialogue.
