Planning Ministry, UNDP announces the availability of governorates (VNRs) of Beheira, Port Said, and Fayoum

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development announced the availability of local voluntary reports (VNRs) for the governorates of Beheira, Port Said, and Fayoum on the Ministry’s official website www.mped.gov.eg, which comes within the framework of the Egyptian state’s efforts to localize sustainable development goals at the local level.

H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, indicated that the three governorates are among the governorates of the first phase whose local voluntary reports are being prepared with the support of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), which were presented at the activities of the High-Level Political Forum for Sustainable Development at the United Nations in New York last July.

El-Said emphasized that the local voluntary review is a tool that allows Egyptian governorates to monitor and evaluate the extent to which the UN sustainable development goals are achieved at the governorate level, using an evidence-based methodology.
