EEIC concludes the activities of the pre-incubation program for the sustainable ready-to-wear garment industry

The Egypt Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center (EEIC), affiliated with the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), concluded the activities of the pre-incubation training program for the sustainable ready-to-wear garment industry which lasted over two days and witnessed the participants presenting a set of ideas for their innovative projects.
Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) said that the pre-incubation program for the sustainable ready-made garment industry is an integrated and intensive program offered through the Egypt Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation to help camp participants generate and develop their ideas and transform them into emerging companies in the sustainable ready-made garment industry sector.
Sherif indicated that the program is presented in the form of a detailed, intensive, and interactive training camp for 14 training sessions to help participants enhance their knowledge. Starting from forming their idea, all the way to building an integrated business model for the proposed projects.
For her part, Dr. Heba Zaki, Director of the Egypt Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, said that the camp witnessed the presentation of public sessions on the most important steps for establishing companies and developing business models, such as market research, market entry strategy, value proposition, pricing and cost, and marketing strategies.
The program covered several topics, the most important of which were the history of fashion, the development of the fashion industry, the fashion ecosystem, and brand building, in addition to production, costs, pricing, public relations, and retail sales.
Dr. Heba Zaki noted that the center received 188 ideas from young people wishing to join the program. 33 participants were selected from young people aspiring to create their projects in the field of sustainable ready-made clothing industry, and 16 projects were presented to the jury.
The jury praised the level of the projects submitted and the novelty of the ideas presented, which would advance the field of sustainable ready-made clothing industry and create added and sustainable value to one of the most important productive sectors in the Egyptian economy.
