Planning Ministry Delegation visits the Ismailia, Dakahlia governorates to follow up on the “Green Village” initiative

The delegation of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development continues tours in the governorates of the "Decent Life" rural development project in Egypt to check the availability of the standards of the "Green Village" initiative which aims to rehabilitate villages according to international environmental standards, and obtain the "Tarsheed" green communities’ certificate.
The Ministry's delegation visited the governorates of Ismailia and Dakahlia, where representatives of the engineering and environmental consulting company "E-Consult" participated.
Dr. Jamil Helmy, Deputy Minister of Monitoring Affairs of the Sustainable Development Plan, stated that the purpose of the field visits is to verify the existence of standards related to the three main pillars to obtain the Tarsheed certificate, which are energy, water, and resources.
Helmy noted that "Tarsheed" is one of the most accredited international certificates issued by an independent inspection body to existing villages because it considers "zero emission" standards, and "Fares" village in Aswan received it, which puts Egypt at the top of the countries in the MENA region in this field.
The General Supervisor of the "Decent Life" project of the Ministry of Planning added that the "Decent Life" initiative of Qantara East Center in Ismailia Governorate aims to implement 119 projects in the villages connected to the center. The initiative includes the construction of 3 water treatment plants and 4 projects related to the provision of sewage services, as well as the construction of 3 stations to improve drinking water services and the construction of 4 public service complexes to increase the level of services provided to citizens.
It also includes the construction and improvement of 10 emergency centers, a central hospital, and the establishment and development projects of 14 schools and 11 youth centers to improve human development services.
Helmy explained that the "Decent Life" initiative of the villages of the Sherbin Center in Dakahlia governorate targets 35 sanitation projects, including 9 treatment plants and domestic sewage connections, as well as 34 projects to improve drinking water service, including 8 water plants
This is in addition to the construction of 8 government service complexes, 8 agricultural service complexes, 61 school construction, expansion and maintenance projects, 24 youth centers, 23 health centers, and 7 emergency centers, in addition to connecting fiber optic and light networks.
The deputy governor of Ismailia, engineer Ahmed Essam El-Din, received a delegation from the Ministry of Planning and the meeting discussed the objectives of the Green Village initiative and the eligibility criteria for villages to obtain the Tarsheed certificate.
He also highlighted the initiative's role in spreading the culture of environmental sustainability throughout rural Egypt. The Ministry delegation visited Al-Taqaddum Village Ambulance Station which was 100% ready and operational, the tertiary sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 6000 m3/day with a 90% construction completion rate, the Civic Service Complex with a 100% completion rate and Family and Child Development.
A center that includes a Kindergarten, a Physiotherapy Center, production workshops, and a product exhibition with a completion level of 90%, and an agricultural service complex that includes a dairy meeting center 100% complete.
The delegation also visited the parking lot and the town square with an end level of 70, the school Martyr Karim Mustafa with 12 classrooms for 390 students, and the expansion of the water plant with an additional volume of about 100 m3 / Hour.
A delegation from the Ministry of Planning then went to visit Al-Hasasi village in Sherbin Center and at the beginning of the visit met with the Governor of Dakahlia, Dr. Ayman Mukhtar, who expressed his welcome to participate in the "Green Village" initiative, recognizing the efforts of the Ministry of Planning to integrate the environmental sustainability of the targeted villages into the "Human Life" project.
The Ministry's delegation was also received by the vice-chancellor, Major General Wagdi Al-Jarwani, who emphasized that the governor of Dakahlia is fully prepared to meet all the standards of the Green Village initiative.
The delegation of the Ministry inspected the extensions of the water plant with a productivity of 600 liters per second and a storage volume of 12,000 m3, the degree of completion of the construction works is 100% and the electromechanical works is 85%, the capacity of the GPS unit.
The delegation of the Ministry wanted to hold meetings with the residents of Al-Taqadum and Al-Hasasi village to get their opinion on the "Decent Life" projects and all-important projects. In the meeting, joy was expressed about the projects realized and being realized within the framework of the "Decent Life" project, which was considered a "Qualitative Leap" to services that never existed before.
The delegation of the Ministry of Planning included the coordinators of the initiative "Decent Life" Ahmed Al-Shimi, Muhammad Sharif Al-Hilli, and Ahmed Reda, and engineer Ahmed Al-Sharif of the company "E-Consult".
