Planning Minister, South Sinai Governor inaugurate the development work of the Bedouin community “Manhar Al-Naka”

H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development and Major General Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai, inaugurated the development work of the Bedouin community “Manhar Al-Naka” in the city of Sharm El-Sheikh, as part of her visit to the governorate.

In the inauguration, El-Said emphasized the enthusiasm of the Egyptian state to develop the operation of government services and simplify their procurement procedures, achieve transparency and integrity of administrative machinery, and provide better and faster services to Egyptian citizens.  

 El-Said explained that the government's role is to facilitate and support the efforts of civil society and the private sector. 

 El-Said noted that the opening of the Bedouin community "Manhar Al-Naka" embodies the importance of sustainable development, including improving living standards, providing employment opportunities, educating women and youth, and providing homes that meet environmental standards. 

 The governor of South Sinai, on the other hand, welcomed the minister and all the participants. He appreciated the role played by the Ministry of Planning and Civil Society and all parties involved in the project in providing a decent life to the people of the valleys and Bedouin communities.

 Fouda emphasized that the development plan will continue for other valleys and Bedouin communities in the governorate and invited civil society to participate in such projects in cooperation with government agencies to achieve the goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s 2030 vision.

 

 The establishment of "Manhar Al-Naka" is part of an integrated initiative to improve and preserve village living in partnership with the Egyptian Federation of Medium, Small, and Micro Enterprises and with the financing of several companies. community participation namely Rifi, Tasahil, Tanmia, Ana El-Masry, and RQI Company. 

 

 In addition to providing all facilities to Bedouin homes, the community development work also includes providing electricity to Bedouin homes, which is part of the governor's plan to develop valleys and villages and ensure a decent life for the residents of these areas. 

 Activities during the visit of the Minister of Planning to Sharm El-Sheikh included an inspection by him and the governor of South Sinai of an exhibition of Bedouin artifacts, meetings with several members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, and a meeting with the  Bedouin community including women and Bedouin sheikhs.
