The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, contacted the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to discuss possible areas of bilateral cooperation between the two parties.
Dr. Sherifa El-Sherif, Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, said that cooperation with the organization comes from full awareness of the importance of cooperation between active institutions in Egypt.
El-Sherif added that the aforementioned cooperation is also recognition of the importance of the role played by the Institute in training, qualifying, and raising the knowledge and skills of national cadres in the areas of management and leadership.
El-Sherif referred to the topics on which the institute and the organization can cooperate in their context by providing training, discussion, and awareness sessions.
At the top of these topics is social and economic development at the local level and reducing the gap between the different Egyptian regions by building the capacities of national cadres in various fields to serve digital transformation, as well as developing technical education to build a generation of technologically advanced youth who can lead projects.
El-Sherif added that the issue of clean energy and its importance in building a comprehensive and sustainable economy was discussed, and the necessary training was proposed to popularize its use in various sectors, encourage comprehensive and sustainable investment to serve these projects, and enhance its readiness to adopt the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
