Egypt's Ministry of Planning participates in a leadership training program on the 2030 Agenda & SDGs in South Korea

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, represented by the Sustainable Development Unit, participated in the executive training program on the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals, which was held in the city of Incheon, South Korea.
The training program was organized by the United Nations Office for Sustainable Development (UNOSD), which is the implementation of the Department of Sustainable Development Goals (UNDSDG) of the Ministry of Economy and Social Affairs (UNDESA).
During her participation, Aya Nawar, Vice President of the Sustainable Development Unit, said that the training program aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of national cadres from member states about the 2030 Agenda, with a focus on several international goals, including Goal 1: No Poverty and Goal 2: Zero Hunger, Goal 13: Climate action, Goal 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions and GOAL 17: Partnerships for the goals.
Localization of sustainable development goals as one of the cornerstones for achieving sustainable development goals was also discussed, as well as mechanisms for preparing voluntary national reports to monitor the achievement of sustainable development goals. In addition to several field visits, including the Incheon Free Economic Zone.
The training program offers an opportunity to facilitate communication and exchange of best practices between representatives of different countries, as well as to improve cooperation and create partnerships between relevant administrations and institutions of different UN member states.
The program witnessed the presence of representatives from 35 countries around the world, who were involved in preparing sustainable development strategies and ensuring consistency with national development plans.
