The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) - the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development - signed, represented by Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of NIGSD, a cooperation agreement with Zewail City of Science, Technology, and Innovation, represented by Dr. Mahmoud Abd Rabbo, acting CEO of Zewail City, and Dean of Strategic Affairs.


This is for cooperation in the fields of governance, administrative development, sustainable development, and support for building and developing human capabilities, research studies, and scientific events.


Dr. Sherifa Sharif indicated that this agreement comes from full awareness of the importance of cooperation between active institutions in Egypt and in light of the role that the Institute plays in forming, qualifying, and raising the knowledge and skills of employees in institutions in all fields to improve the service system and enable these workers to manage resources efficiently and effectively achieving sustainable development by Egypt’s Vision 2030.


  Sherif stressed the Institute’s keenness to deepen cooperation with scientific, academic, and research institutions to benefit from the academic side in improving the efficiency of the practical side and applying the scientific method in programs to develop the capabilities and refine the skills of human cadres, in addition to NIGSD’s role in preparing studies and research, providing consultations and managing projects concerned with good administration, governance, and digital transformation. 




Sherif pointed out that Zewail City of Science, Technology, and Innovation enjoys a distinguished position in relying on highly qualified human cadres, training, and constant readiness to contribute effectively in the field of community service within the framework of the state’s development plans.


For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Abd Rabbo expressed his happiness with this cooperation, which reflects the pivotal role played by Zewail City in Egyptian society and the work to support the state in various fields of building and developing the human capabilities of the Egyptian state and offering scientific solutions that contribute to the development and development of Egyptian society to achieve Sustainable development goals and supporting Egypt’s Vision 2030.


The cooperation agreement includes several areas, including the implementation of a package of training programs, academic scholarships, and joint training packages, the implementation of several seminars and workshops for city employees in topics and specializations that are compatible with the nature of their work, as well as the institute providing training programs for city students to practically qualify them to engage in the labor market.
