The Ministry of Planning and Economy recently revised the objectives of the plan for the current fiscal year 2023/2024 in the field of educational services. 

 H.E. The Egyptian Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Hala El-Said, referred to the economic importance of the education sector, because the importance of the sector focuses on its influential role in human development, increasing cognitive awareness, and developing skills. 

 Considering the importance of the education sector in building the uniqueness of Egypt, the state pays great attention to it and allocates resources to programs and projects that improve the quality of educational services, and implement modern teaching methods, according to El-Said. 

 She explained that the total investment in the education sector in the 2023/2024 plan is EGP 99.4 billion. 


 The Ministry of Planning's report presented projects targeting the education services sector. In the field of general education and technical education, the objective of the 2024/23 plan is to renovate and renew 488 schools (8,335 classrooms) and to build and equip 1,875 schools with a total of 29,622 classrooms. 

 

 

 In the field of higher education and science, the report noted that the 2023/2024 plan aims to implement several final projects, including construction and equipment, as part of the medium-term economic and social development plan. 

 

 In addition, the report noted that the Egyptian government is also involved in the construction of the Port Said University Teaching Hospital, Egypt-Japan Phase III buildings in Borg El Arab, and the Space Science and Technology College and Research Center. 




 The report looked at higher education and scientific construction and development projects, including the creation and development of a new oncology institute with 500,500 people in Sheikh Zayed and the implementation of a new medical complex at the Suez campus on October 6. 


(The report) also highlighted the construction of a student residence in Burj Al Arab in Alexandria, the construction of campus infrastructure in New Damietta City, the development (decommissioning and construction) of Al Salam Hospital, and the implementation of 37 projects (academic buildings, and campuses ) and the construction of the three-wing building of the new Minya University Hospital.
