Planning Minister appoints Amb. Hisham Badr as assistant for strategic partnership

H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, issued a decision appointing Ambassador Hisham Badr, Assistant Minister for Strategic Partnerships, Excellence, and Initiatives.

 

 

  El-Said emphasized that the Ministry of Planning always wants to benefit from outstanding experts and cadres who have an effective and influential role in professional life. 

She pointed out that it is important to trust personnel who have enough experience to manage work to increase the efficiency of activity and achieve the highest level of work. 

 

 

  Ambassador Hisham Badr expressed his gratitude for this trust and promised to keep working to serve the people. 

 

 

 Ambassador Hisham Badr participated in several diplomatic missions. He served as Egypt's ambassador to Italy and its permanent representative in Rome.  He also served as Egypt's ambassador to Japan from 03-2007. He also served as Deputy Secretary of State for Multilateral Affairs and International Security and Deputy Secretary of State for International Organizations and Institutions. 

 

 

 

 

 Badr has held several international positions, including Permanent Representative of Egypt to the United Nations, Head of the Office of the Secretary General of the Arab League, Head of the Executive Office of the World Food Program, and President of the Egyptian National Committee in the UN Security Council affairs. 

 

 In Geneva, he served as Chairman of the Executive Committee and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Chairman of the Conference on Disarmament, Chairman of the World Intellectual Property Organization, and Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the World Organization's Balance of Payments Committee on Business. 

Badr served as Chairman of the National Committee for Intellectual Property in Egypt and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Diplomatic Club.

 

 

  He was also the Chairman of the Egyptian National Intellectual Property Commission and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Diplomatic Club of Egypt. Ambassador Hisham Badr received Japan's highest award, “The Order of the Rising Sun", from the Japanese Embassy in 2022.  

 

 

 He also received the Press Campaign Award in 2010 for his commitment and efforts in protecting journalists in armed conflicts. 

 

 

  Badr is also responsible for several responsibilities, including developing a business strategy for excellence and initiatives and overseeing the implementation of strategic partnership work.
