NIGSD CEO Explores Women's Empowerment Mechanisms at Women's Leadership Conference

Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) participated in a session on "Women are the true architects of society" - virtually - at the conference (Governance, Legal Framework and Technical Aspects) in Kenya.
The conference took place under the auspices of the African Public Administration Association and the African and Commonwealth African Anti-Corruption Center (CAACC).
During her participation, Dr. Sherifa Sherif looked at ways to achieve gender equality and equal opportunity, emphasizing the importance of the role of women in development and the importance of their economic empowerment, offering all the opportunities that provide the conditions to develop their skills.
Sherif referred to the achievements of the Egyptian state in empowering women, the role of the state in this, the fight against corruption and gender equality, and the role of the state in empowering working women in both the public and private sectors.
Sherif also reviewed several projects and initiatives aimed at empowering women, including the Decent Life initiative and its role in improving the living conditions of Egyptian women, as well as the implementation of programs aimed at empowering women in development.
The Executive Director of NIGSD emphasized that gender equality is a social and economic necessity.
Sherif noted that closing the gender gap is an integral part of the strategy to create a more sustainable and inclusive economy and society and that women's economic empowerment is the most powerful catalyst for economic growth.
