 The Training Division of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, the National Institute of Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), through the Training for Africa (Tanmia) initiative, organized a training program for African officials on "Performance Measurement Indicators for Effective Governance in Africa"  from three countries: Lesotho, Kenya, and Nigeria. 

  Dr. Sherifa Sherif, NIGSD Executive Director noted that the training program is in line with the desire of the Egyptian government to effectively contribute to sustainable development efforts in the African continent and support Egypt's efforts to create African cadres with the necessary skills to achieve the goals of the continent and Agenda 2063.  

 Sherif explained that the fourth edition of the training program  "Performance Measurement Indicators for Effective Governance in Africa" was presented virtually. 

  The training took place in English and targeted 25 African civil servants from Lesotho, Kenya, and Nigeria. 

 Several units such as the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Social Affairs, public works and the Ministry of Communications, Science and Technology participate in the training. 


For her, Dr. Hanan Rizk, Director of the African Development Center and Director of the Training Network of African Management Institutes (Tanmia) said that the program, presented to African civil servants in Lesotho, Kenya, and Nigeria, aims to make the trainees aware of the importance of action. measurement indicators, definition of strategic objectives, types of performance measurement indicators, and sources of selection of performance indicators.  

 

 

 It should be noted that during the two days, there was considerable interaction between the participants from the three countries, which enriched the discussion and contributed to the exchange of African experiences. 

  This program represents the fourth episode after the success of the first edition of the program. The program was presented to local government workers in African countries in both Arabic and English through the Zoom platform, with the participation of 10 determined people from Egypt. 

 The program also achieved great success in the second group, which was presented to African graduate students studying at the Egyptian-Japanese University of Science and Technology (E-JUST) in the new city of Borg El-Arab, as well as administrative students, managers of the university's international cooperation office. 


The third edition was distinguished by the fact that it was provided by the Department of Education and Development of the Ministry of Public Administration of Lesotho at an official request to the staff of various ministries in Lesotho and Egypt. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  The training was led by Dr. Abeer Morsi, who has worked in the field of training and consulting for more than 25 years in international and local companies and universities.
