Planning Ministry, NIGSD to start trainers program for the first group of the "Be an Ambassador" initiative

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) - the training arm of the ministry - announced the completion of the first group of the “Be an Ambassador” initiative of the second level (the specialized level).
The policy paper submitted by the trainees is now being evaluated through the relevant committee, with the third level through the (ToT) program starting tomorrow, Sunday, June 6, and continuing until June 17.
Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development confirmed that the Be an Ambassador initiative aims to build national capacities in the field of sustainable development through a series of training courses for youth, in cooperation with the concerned authorities.
El-Said indicated that the initiative's training program includes identifying development patterns and background on the development of environmental thought in the modern era, with the definition of the concept of sustainable, just, and comprehensive development, as well as the definition of the United Nations sustainable development goals, the green economy, and the circular economy as mechanisms to achieve sustainable development.
For her part, Dr. Sherifa El-Sherif, Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, explained that the number of trainees in the first group is 103 representing the governorates of Cairo, Giza, Gharbia, South Sinai, Beni Suef, Sohag, Aswan, Alexandria, Dakahlia, Suez, Sharkia, Fayoum, Menoufia, New Valley, Port Said, Kafr El-Sheikh, Qena, Ismailia.
