The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) - the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development - concluded the activities of the training program "Innovative Governance in the Digital Age" in partnership with the Thunderbird School of Global Management affiliated with the state of Arizona, at the college's headquarters in Washington, DC.


 


 


Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), during her attendance after the program, indicated the success of implementing the first phase of the training program, through which work was done to enhance the capacities and skills of 27 participants from more than 14 government agencies from the state’s administrative apparatus, including the ministries of planning. Economic development, communications, and information technology, higher education and scientific research, electricity and renewable energy, and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones.


On the sidelines of the training program, Dr. Sherifa Sherif signed the implementation of activities through the Center of Excellence of the Thunderbird School of Global Management at NIGSD’s headquarters, to exchange experiences in the field of training and scientific research.


 


 


 


The training program included various axes related to flexible governance, digital transformation, mechanization of government administration, and mechanisms for creating sustainable economic systems. In addition, it included competitiveness and cooperation between the public and private sectors.


 


The program also included a review of the challenges and opportunities facing the state's administrative apparatus in the digital age.


 


The training program was distinguished by focusing on practical and applied aspects, by conducting field visits to the most important international institutions such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the US Congress, the Brookings Research Center, and the African Union Mission to the United States. The program also included training courses and workshops interactively and practically.
