Main / Media / News / National Initiative for Green Smart Projects, Nile University discuss cooperation ways

03 August 2023

Ambassador Hisham Badr, the general coordinator of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, met with Dr. Wael Akl, President of Nile University.

They discussed ways of cooperation in the initiative, as well as collaboration in university initiatives.

During the meeting, Ambassador Hisham Badr stressed the importance of the partnership between the initiative and Nile University. This is to promote the initiative's goals and purpose and encourage students to participate in their projects.

Badr explained that the initiative is ready to provide technical support to students to formulate their projects. It will prepare feasibility studies, and include them in the initiative's database. This makes it easier to reach financiers and investors.

Badr explained that the initiative was the first of its kind. In its endeavors to find solutions derived from the Egyptian people, it aims to find efficient solutions on the ground. This results in projects based on the real needs of citizens.

Badr stressed that the initiative consolidates neutrality, transparency, responsible governance, sustainability, and intellectual property protection for projects.

He explained that submitting projects on the official website, www.sgg.eg is available until September. In addition, there is a unified evaluation form in all governorates.

Badr indicated that the initiative works to achieve decentralization by giving the governorates all the necessary powers to evaluate submitted projects. It also selects the ambassador project in each governorate and verifies the sustainability of the projects by turning them into an income-generating opportunity for project owners.

Ambassador Hisham Badr reviewed the initiative's efforts to build its participants' capacities by holding seminars, workshops, and training at the governorate level, in various universities, and online. In addition, Ambassador Hisham Badr reviewed the videos and educational lessons available on the initiative online.

Badr indicated that partnerships with national and international organizations can raise project owners' capabilities.

For his part, the President of Nile University welcomed the cooperation with the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, pointing to the consistency of the initiative’s goals of leadership and innovation with the university’s agenda, especially the Nilepreneurs initiative, funded by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), which works to support small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurship in the fields of agriculture and digital transformation.

Badr confirmed his willingness to support the initiative by providing technical support and building industry capacities. He also urged university students to participate in the enterprise.
