NIGSD launches the 1st of the "Innovative Governance in the Digital Age" training program in cooperation with Thunderbird Management School

The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) - the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development - launched the first session of the training program "Innovative Governance in the Digital Age" in cooperation with the Thunderbird School of Global Management with the participation of 27 trainees from 14 government agencies from the state's administrative apparatus.
The training program activities were inaugurated by Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of the NIGSD, explaining that the implementation of the program comes within the framework of the cooperation protocol signed between the National Institute of Governance and Thunderbird School of Global Management in 2022.
Sherif stressed that the program comes in light of the Egyptian state's interest in developing the skills and capabilities of workers in the state's administrative apparatus, noting that the training deals with a variety of topics including flexible governance, digital transformation, mechanization of government administration, mechanisms for creating sustainable economic systems, in addition to competitiveness and cooperation between the public and private sectors.
The program also includes a review of the challenges and opportunities faced by the state's administrative apparatus in the digital age.
For his part, Mr. Nabil Fouad, Director General of Business Development and Human Resources at the Institute, stated that the training program includes many field visits to many international and local agencies in Washington, holding discussions with officials of those agencies, and reviewing the work frameworks of those prestigious institutions and how to make decisions in them.
During the program's activities, the delegation made field visits to the US Congress and the headquarters of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to learn about the latest practices and technologies in innovative governance and sustainable development.
The delegation is also scheduled to visit The Brookings Institution and the African Union mission to the United States.
Within the program's framework, the participants look forward to applying the knowledge and skills acquired during the training program to develop the state's administrative apparatus. They also look forward to achieving digital transformation and sustainable development.
