This is in light of activating the role of civil institutions and associations in the initiative launched in August 2022. A decision was made by the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic to launch this initiative under his auspices.

This comes as part of the initiative's efforts to expand partnerships with all parties to spread awareness of climate change dangers. It also involves all sectors in climate action.

Ambassador Hisham Badr stated that civil society is a major factor in climate action and one of the elements necessary to achieve a societal movement towards a more sustainable future, without which the sustainable development that we aspire to cannot be achieved, so the initiative has been keen to cooperate with various civil society institutions since its launch.

Badr explained that the initiative continues to expand partnerships with various institutions to achieve its goal of involving all members of society in endeavors to reach a sustainable future.

Badr also indicated that the initiative provides an opportunity to win valuable financial prizes to support the winning projects in expansion, in addition to working on networking them with potential partners to ensure their implementation on the ground and thus achieve the desired goals of positive impacts on the environment and society.

He also referred to the winning projects in the first round of the initiative. He also referred to the support provided by the initiative to push for the expansion of these projects.

Dr. Talaat Abdel Qawi explained that the initiative represents a real opportunity for civil society to present its efforts. It also reviews its role in sustainable development. This is especially true for projects aimed at directly confronting climate change risks.

He pointed out that the initiative opens the way for projects of various natures by targeting six categories. These categories include large, medium, small, emerging, and non-profit women's projects.

Abdul Qawi stressed that the national initiative represents an innovative model for climate action localization, as it opens the door for all segments of society to participate effectively in climate action.

Here comes the role of civil society to raise awareness of the dangers of climate change and the importance of addressing them, and to mobilize thinking minds from all over the Republic and invite them to devise practical solutions to environmental problems facing each of Egypt’s governorates and advance the initiative to take advantage of the various support opportunities provided by the initiative.

Dr. Talaat Abdel-Qawi also called on all civil associations and institutions to raise awareness about the initiative among the beneficiaries and partners dealing with them.

He encouraged green project owners to apply for the initiative and benefit from participation through the website sgg. eg before the application closes on the first of September, especially since it has The initiative has received acclaim from international organizations as one of the most successful initiatives presented at COP27.
