The National Initiative for Smart Green Projects participated in the Fifth Annual Forum for Transformation Strategies towards a Green Economy. The forum was organized by CSR Egypt under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Solidarity.

The National Initiative for Smart Green Projects was launched under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's auspices and by the Prime Minister. It is implemented under the supervision of the Minister of Planning and Economic Development in cooperation with the relevant ministries.

During the forum, Ms. Nermin Sadek, Executive Director of the initiative, reviewed the goals and importance of the initiative as it is unprecedented globally, as it is implemented in all governorates of the Republic with the participation of all groups to find Egyptian solutions to climate change problems.

Sadiq referred to the opportunities offered by the initiative to the winning projects, whether the financial awards provided by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, or the technical support provided to the projects, in addition to the provision of funding and investment agencies to support these projects.

The Executive Director of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects also indicated that the period for submitting projects in the second round was extended until the first of September, to give more time to applicants to improve the submitted forms and achieve maximum benefit.

The forum witnessed the presentation of several winning projects in the first round of the initiative. Additionally, they were able to share their progress and accomplishments, as well as the participation of their projects in CoP27. This included the green roads and eco-tourism project in the Qarun Nature Reserve in Fayoum, reviewed by Professor Ehab Mahmoud Ibrahim.
