Dr. Sherifa Sherif reappointed as Executive Director of NIGSD for a year.

H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, The Prime Minister of Egypt renewed the appointment of Dr. Sherifa Sherif as Executive Director of The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) - the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development training arm for one year.
Dr. Sherifa Sherif expressed her pride in this confidence and the renewal of her appointment for another year as Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD).
She noted that the NIGSD is entrusted with providing training, research, and consulting in governance and sustainable development under the slogan "Governance for Sustainable Development".
Dr. Sherifa Sherif has worked for over 20 years in public administration, corporate social responsibility, sustainable development, social entrepreneurship, environmental management, and governance. She has published several articles and research papers in national and international journals in her fields of specialization.
Dr. Sherifa Sherif holds a master's degree in public administration from the American University in Cairo. She also has a Ph.D. from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom. She is a professor of public administration at Cairo University's Faculty of Economics and Political Science.
She held the position of Vice Dean for Environmental Affairs and Community Service. She was also Head of the Department of Public Administration at Future University in Egypt, and Assistant Professor at several universities.
She also held the position of head of the Public Administration Research and Consultation Center at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University.
In 2017, she was appointed to the Egyptian National Committee of the African Peer Review Mechanism. She was also the Egyptian National Coordinator for the Committee on Public Governance of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
In 2021 she was appointed to the Committee of Experts on Public Administration of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) aims to facilitate procedures and develop rules governing dealing with state institutions and its various agencies, and coordinate between relevant stakeholders, whether at the central or local level, following good governance standards, in addition to monitoring and following up Egypt’s position in regional governance, competitiveness, and sustainable development indicators.
NIGSD is also working on issuing periodic national reports in which it works to raise the international classification of Egypt in international reports on governance and competitiveness, as well as conducting research on exchanging experiences with training and educational institutions at the local and national levels, intending to benefit from the experiences of leading countries in the fields of management and governance.
