The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development organizes an introductory seminar for its leading figures on the Internal Excellence Award

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development held recently an introductory seminar for ministry leaders about the internal excellence award in the ministry.
The award was launched for the first time under the supervision of Khaled Mostafa, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and General Supervisor of the Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence, Eng. Omnia Kamal, supervisor of the central administration of the strategic department, and Ambassador Hisham Badr, General Coordinator of Egypt's Initiative for Smart Green Projects.
Eng. Khaled Mustafa pointed out that the Internal Excellence Award aims to encourage competition between the various departments at all levels within the Ministry.
It also aims to achieve better employee satisfaction rates, spread quality and excellence at the ministry level, and promote innovation and creativity.
Mustafa explained that the award will be launched at the level of the Ministry's general office as a first stage, and then the experience will be circulated to the affiliated bodies in light of the award's guidelines, where a working group will be formed from the concerned departments to ensure the efficiency and transparency of the award's governance.
He added that this introductory seminar would be followed by other seminars for employees and participants in the categories of "Best Employee, Best Work Team, and Best Innovative Government Initiative".
During the session, Amb. Hisham Badr stressed the importance of spreading the culture of excellence, and installing its values and principles across all sectors; clarifying that the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development’s internal excellence awards is a realization of the directives of the Minister of Planning and Economic Development H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, which came at the annual celebration of the Egyptian family last March that witnessed the announcement of the start of applying the internal excellence system in the Ministry.
Badr explained that activating the internal excellence awards will serve as an opportunity for positive competition between the distinguished cadres and the various departments. In addition, it will serve the work teams of the Ministry's initiatives and projects.
Badr stressed the importance of encouraging participation, enhancing innovation and creativity, and motivating everyone to raise performance levels.
He also stressed the importance of quality and excellence standards. He also rewarded and honored distinguished ministry workers.
It includes an award for an outstanding innovative government initiative. It also includes an award for exemplary teamwork in a department or project. It also recognizes an award for the most outstanding department or unit manager and an award for the most valuable employee.
It is worth noting that the internal award was designed based on the "Egypt Award for Government Excellence" system.
Its standards were prepared within the criteria for individual awards, and an integrated guide to internal excellence awards was prepared.
The guide also includes instructions and conditions for applying for the different categories, the evaluation mechanism used, and the criteria for awarding categories.
