EGP 350 bn allocated for Decent Life's first stage in 20 governorates: Planning Minister

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development reviewed the executive position of the first phase of the national project for the development of the Egyptian countryside "A decent life", on the occasion of the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the June 30 revolution.
H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, confirmed that the "Decent Life" project achieves all 17 UN sustainable development goals.
She explained that the first phase allocations were EGP 350 billion. This was to implement about 23,000 projects in 1477 villages in 52 centers within 20 governorates, with 18 million citizens benefiting.
The average implementation rate for the first stage reached 85%, and the disbursement value amounted to EGP 200 billion. This indicates that the Upper Egypt governorates' share in the first stage's allocations reached 68%, benefiting 11 million citizens, and 61% of the total beneficiaries.
For his part, Dr. Jamil Helmy, Assistant Minister of Planning and Economic Development for Follow-up Affairs of the Sustainable Development Plan, indicated that during the first phase of the "Decent Life" initiative, 382 health units, and a central hospital, 317 ambulance units, 14.200 classrooms, and 787 youth centers were completed within state efforts to develop human development services.
The report of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development indicated the completion of 305 government service complexes, 776 post offices, 231 police points, and 259 electricity and lighting projects to improve the quality of services provided to citizens, in addition to connecting the optical fiber network to 187 villages and installing 1028 towers to strengthen mobile networks as part of the state's efforts to enhance the transformation plan.
The report added that 124 branches of local banks were established and developed, 563 ATMs and 1132 points of sale were provided, 205,000 bank accounts were opened, 1200 financial education seminars were held, 6 training seminars for trainees with a total number of beneficiaries of 97.800 beneficiaries as part of the efforts to expand the implementation of the financial inclusion strategy.
The report touched on the most important villages with high achievement rates, represented in the village of Umm Doma, Markaz Tama, Sohag Governorate, the villages of New Abadia, Markaz Damanhour, Zawyet Saqr Village, Abu al-Matamir town, Buhaira Governorate, the village of Shobak, Markaz Shebin al-Qanater, Qalyubiya Governorate, village Classes and Sherbin town, Dakahlia Governorate.
The report sheds light on the "Green Village" initiative within the villages of the Decent Life Project, where the strategic objective of the initiative is to rehabilitate the villages of the presidential initiative "Decent Life" to comply with the latest global environmental standards of the World Green Building Council and to obtain a "Tarsheed" certificate for green communities.
The plan of the first phase includes the rehabilitation of a village in each rural governorate (20 villages), referring to the implementation position of the "Green Village" initiative, whereby the procedures for rehabilitating the villages of the first phase "19 villages" were started to obtain a "Tarsheed" certificate for green communities.
