The National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, in cooperation with Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, held a training workshop to raise awareness of the objectives and categories of the initiative, mechanisms, and criteria for evaluating projects participating in the second round of it, which is currently available for submission on the website www.sgg.eg.


 


 


The workshop witnessed the presence of Major General Gamal Nour El-Din, Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh, Dr. Amr Al-Bashbeshi, Deputy Governor, Mohamed Raafat, Assistant Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh, and General Coordinator of the Executive Committee for Smart Green Projects in the governorate, and representatives of the governorates of Kafr El-Sheikh, Gharbia, and Menoufia.


 


 


During his inauguration of the training workshop, the Governor welcomed the participants. He pointed out that political leadership pays significant attention to climate change and its risks. He stressed the importance of green projects in preserving natural resources for future generations.


 


 


The Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh stressed the importance of the national initiative for smart green projects and the significant success it achieved in its first session. He also stressed the role of participating in projects in serving Egyptian society and the state.


 


 


Wissam Ghanem, the coordinator of the initiative, provided an overview of the criteria and mechanisms for evaluating projects participating in the second round of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects.


 


 


 


 


 


Ghanem pointed to the interest of those in charge of the initiative in providing all aspects of support and overcoming any obstacles or problems facing the participants when advancing to the second round.


 


 


 


The representative of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology reviewed the evaluation criteria, which are the green component, the intelligent technology component, economic feasibility and findability, scalability and replication, sustainable impact, and a measure for the category of women's projects, which is empowerment and equal opportunity.


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


The representative of the Ministry of Environment explained the concept and types of green projects and the criteria for evaluating them, including the efficient use of natural resources, the use of clean energy and energy efficiency, the percentage of green production inputs, and procedures for preserving biodiversity during production stages.


 


 


 


 


 


 


The representative of the National Council for Women referred to the criteria for evaluating women's projects, including the representation of women in the project and their leadership roles, the project's consideration of the needs and interests of women in society, as well as the project's impact on women's lives, opportunities, and access to education and health care.


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


After the end of the training workshop, Mr. Karim Al-Samahi, Director of Estidama Center for Training and Development of Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, accompanied the workshop's lecturers on an inspection tour of the center's interactive training halls.
