Planning Ministry issues the ninth issue of the "Citizen Follow-up in the Governorates" report

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development issued the ninth issue of the “Citizen Follow-up in the Governorates” report during the years (18 / 2019- 19/2020) for the Suez Governorate, which includes an inventory of the projects that were fully completed during the same period and linking them to the sustainable development goals.
Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, indicated that 292 development projects have been completed in Suez, with a total investment cost estimated at EGP 12.6 billion in 7 sectors: education, health, housing, electricity, petroleum, transport, and local development.
The report of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development indicated that the transit unit in the governorate had been completed, for EGP 5 million; This is in relation to the state’s efforts to achieve the third goal of the sustainable development goals, "ensuring a healthy life and promoting well-being for all at all ages."As for the fourth goal, “Ensure a quality education that is equitable and inclusive of all and enhances learning opportunities throughout life for all,” the report indicated the completion of the implementation of 12 projects in the pre-university education sector, for EGP 78.5 million, which resulted in the creation, replacement, and expansion of 260 classrooms in all educational stages.
The report continued that within the framework of achieving the sixth goal, “Ensuring the availability of drinking water and sanitation for all and managing it sustainably,” the nominated Abu Aref water station (capacity 10 000m3 / day) and the sanitation of Al-Hasani and Al-Qarani (benefiting 15 000citizens) were completed. The report also indicated that 16 projects in the electricity and renewable energy sector had been completed, for EGP 72 million, most notably the expansion of the economic transformer station (40 MVA added capacity), and the expansion of the Al-Kusteel transformer station (250 MVA added capacity).
The ministry's report confirmed that 5 projects have been implemented for EGP 7.4 billion, including the construction of 5 tanks to store petroleum products (solar / gasoline) (capacity 62,000 m3), as well as joint projects with the governorates of Cairo and Qalyubia, including the replacement and renewal of a link from the Suez diesel pipeline / mostorod (first stage with a length of 20 km).
This is in addition to the construction of a 15 km gas line to feed the city of Galala; and that in the petroleum and mineral resources sector, and the implementation of 32 projects within the local development programs (electricity and lighting), for EGP 93.6 million, which resulted in the supply of 3 hydraulic ladder cars, and raising the efficiency of public lighting in the new Corniche and Sports City Street, and some areas in the crossing and the Ansari area and separate areas Arbaeen neighborhoods, Al-Mawshi, Mubarak and Al-Hrafis, the village of Yusef Al-Sebaei, Al-Mostaqbal and Al-Nawat in Faisal neighborhood, Kabrit, Al-Umda, Al-Shulfa, Al-Jabalayat, Al-Hajjaj road in your Al-Janayen neighborhood, and electricity connection to the cities of Darak and Al-Ashgar in Faisal neighborhood.
Concerning the ninth goal of the sustainable development goals, "Establishing resilient infrastructure, stimulating inclusive sustainable industrialization, and encouraging innovation", the report referred to the completion of the development of a road from Martyr Ahmed Hamdy Tunnel to the intersection of the Suez Road with a length of 24 km, and the Cairo / Suez Road. (Regional Ring Interchange to Suez) with a length of 70 km, rehabilitating the Ring Road (Away - Amer village) with a length of 4.2 km, and implementing 54 projects within the local development programs (paving roads), for EGP 282.4 million, which resulted in the paving and development of streets and roads.
In addition, more than 2,300 housing units have been completed within the National Social Housing Project; This is within the framework of achieving the eleventh goal of "making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable," as well as implementing 74 projects within the local development programs (security, traffic, and firefighting, supporting the needs of local units), for EGP 155 million.
This resulted in the provision of 7 fire trucks, 9 traffic cars, and radars, in addition to the provision of more than 4 000security, fire, and traffic supplies, in addition to supporting the needs of the Presidency of Faisal, Ataqah, Arbaeen, Al-Ganayen, and purchasing 11 cars for the neighborhoods.
Concerning the thirteenth goal of the sustainable development goals, "Take urgent measures to combat climate change and its impacts," the report of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development stated that 82 projects within the local development programs (improving the environment) had been implemented, for EGP 272 million, of which 38 equipment were supplied.
