Egypt’s Planning Minister Inspects NIGSD’s Newly opened headquarter

H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, inspected the building of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) - the training arm of the ministry - at its newly opened headquarters on Salah Salem St. - Cairo.
During the inspection tour , El-Said met with several employees from NIGSD.
NIGSD’s Executive Director Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Assistant Minister for Digitization and the Information Infrastructure Issues Eng. Ashraf Abdel Hafiz, and Assistant Minister for the Issues of the Technical office Kamal Nasr accompanied El-Said during her tour at NIGSD.
During her visit to the NIGSD headquarters, Dr. Hala El-Said followed a presentation given by Dr. Heba Zaki, Manager of Egypt’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, one of NIGSD’s affiliates.
The presentation addressed the roles and vision of the new center concerned with the restructuring of the entrepreneurship and innovation file at MPED; Dr. Zaki indicated that the center was created to become a center specialized in supporting the file of entrepreneurship and innovation with a more comprehensive vision, taking into account each of the entrepreneurs, supporting the entrepreneurial environment, and the decision-maker with regard to entrepreneurship and innovation.
Moreover , she explained that the center realizes its vision to become a center of excellence locally, regionally and internationally in the field of supporting entrepreneurship and sustainable innovation, and provides best practices in the field of innovation management and promotion of the knowledge economy through five main programs: awareness programs, entrepreneurship and innovation education, Sustainable Innovation Laboratory program, Egypt’s Observatory for Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Innovation, the Evaluation and Accreditation Program for Entrepreneurial Activities, and the Decision Maker Support Program.
Finally, she explained that the center will launch its first official activities next Sunday with an intensive training camp for generating ideas titled "From Challenge to Idea." The workshop will be taking place over five consecutive days with the participation of trainees from different governorates.
The visit of the Minister of Planning and Economic Development also included an inspection of the Center for Spatial Variables, a visit to the Demographic Center after its affiliation with the NIGSD, and one of the training programs affiliated with the Egypt Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
