National Initiative for Green Smart Projects participates in EBRD workshop on Egyptian SMEs' impact

The 'National Initiative for Green Smart Projects' participated in a workshop held by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) entitled "The Social, Environmental, and Governance Impact of Egyptian SMEs".
During his participation, The General Coordinator of the National Initiative for Green Smart Project and the Head of its Organizing Committee, Ambassador Hisham Badr explained that the initiative seeks to open opportunities for all advanced projects to network with various partners.
This is through the database that the initiative succeeded in establishing and is developing to include smart green projects throughout the Republic.
Ambassador Hisham Badr reviewed the initiative's success during its first session. He also reviewed its impact on raising awareness of climate change dangers and involving all segments of society in climate action.
He also referred to the support provided by the initiative to the winners of the first round of financial awards. He also referred to technical support through partners. This included presenting them at the national and international levels and opening partnership opportunities.
Ambassador Hisham Badr confirmed that the application for the second stage will continue until July, pointing out that the initiative was launched in all governorates under the auspices of the President of the Republic, and following Prime Minister Decision No. 2738 of 2022, and under the supervision of Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development.
Badr indicated that the initiative contributed to building trained cadres to evaluate projects in all Egyptian governorates.
The second session focused on building all those interested's capacities through training in governorates and virtual training. This was held on several topics related to sustainability, management, and entrepreneurship.
Badr pointed out the importance of the initiative, as it is one of the most important outcomes of COP 27.
Notably, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Egypt hosted a one-day workshop to inform interested SMEs and help them enhance their environmental and social performance to expand their operations internally and internationally.
