"National Initiative for Green Smart Projects in Governorates" runs a training workshop in Fayoum

National Initiative for Green Smart Projects in Governorates, in cooperation with Fayoum Governorate and the presence of participants from Beni Suef and Minya governorates, held a training workshop within the framework of a group of training workshops held by the initiative in several governorates to raise awareness of its objectives, categories, and criteria for project nomination in the second round, which is currently available through the initiative’s website www.sgg.eg.
The workshop witnessed the presence of Ahmed Al-Laithi, a researcher at the Technical Office of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, Ahmed Lotfi, representative of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Hossam Shaaban, representative of the Ministry of Environment, Laila Taha Qassem, rapporteur of the National Council for Women, Fayoum branch, and Mohamed Talaat, member of the National Council for Women.
During the workshop, Ahmed Al-Laithi, a representative of the Ministry of Planning, reviewed the idea of the initiative and its establishment under the auspices of the President of the Republic and by a decision of the Prime Minister.
Al-Laithi indicated that the initiative's main objective is to find ideas and solutions from local reality in the governorates to solve the problems of the environment and climate change. He pointed to the six initiative categories and the candidacy criteria.
For his part, Ahmed Lotfi, a representative of the Ministry of Communications, reviewed the conditions to be met for each project. He also reviewed the stages of project evaluation, starting with electronic evaluation, in which projects are sorted electronically and their conformity to standards is examined.
Lotfi also reviewed the evaluation of the executive committees in the governorates and the selection of 6 projects in each governorate. This was to reach 162 projects at the Republic level.
He also reviewed the specializations of the targeted projects, which amount to more than 15 specializations, and the criteria for nomination for projects.
Hossam Shaaban, a Ministry of Environment representative, reviewed green projects. These are environmentally friendly projects that achieve the principle of sustainable production and consumption, referring to the criteria for evaluating green projects.
