“National Initiative for Green Smart Projects in Governorates" receives 1st green project made by a “People of Determination” group

H.E. Ambassador Hisham Badr, the general coordinator of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, met with the first team of people of determination to participate in the "City of Dreams" project within the initiative's second round. The team consisted of 20 members of the Dalil Al-Khair Association for Development.

Ambassador Hisham Badr welcomed the team members and their families, and members of the association, expressing his pride and gratitude for their interest in climate change issues, and for presenting a vision project for an integrated city that relies entirely on recycling, stressing that the project represents a future vision for sustainable cities.

Badr reviewed the objectives of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects and the mechanisms and rules for participating in them.

He explained that the initiative comes within the framework of the state’s desire to find solutions on the ground with the participation of citizens in climate change issues, stressing the importance of the financial return of projects being consistent and equal to the environmental return, by reducing the use of energy, recycling of materials used in projects.

Badr talked about the success of the winning projects in the first round of the initiative in various fields, pointing to the Bab Rizq project that specializes in making jewelry from reused materials, the handicrafts project from palm fronds, the robot project that cleans the seas, and the early detection of palm mites project.

Badr talked about climate change's repercussions and dangers, stressing the importance of solidarity and effective participation in confronting this danger. He also stressed the importance of taking seriously, albeit simple, steps to reduce climate change.

For their part, the Daleel Al-Khair Association for Development team expressed their happiness at the warm reception. They reviewed their interests and talents, and each team member presented the part he played in the current project.

Following the meeting, the project is listed on the initiative platform.

In a kind gesture, the management of Daleel Al-Khair Foundation for Development decided to dedicate the "City of Dreams" project to Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, which includes all services from recycling using unused materials in the hands of a group of people of determination.
