Egypt Government Excellence Award follows up final Arbitration Process for Damietta University internal excellence awards

The Egypt Government Excellence Award team headed by Ambassador Hisham Badr and with the participation of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development Engineer Khaled Mostafa, and the Academic President of the University of Hertfordshire paid an official visit to Damietta University to follow up the final arbitration process for the internal awards of the university.
The visit’s agenda included a meeting with the head of Damietta University Dr. Al-Sayed Mohamed Dadour, Vice President of the University for Civil Society, and Environmental Development Dr. Abdel Hamid Khad, Vice President of the University for Post-Graduate Studies and Research Dr. Hamdan Rabie Metwaly, and Vice President of the University for Education and Students Dr. Wael Farouk Al-Tayebani.
During the meeting, Amb. Hisham Badr praised the development and improvement that the governorate has witnessed, stressing the state’s eagerness to consolidate the culture of excellence for the improvement of the performance of the administrative apparatus, and the political leadership’s eagerness for the expansion of the application of the Egypt Awards for Government Excellence to incorporate more sectors and institutions.
He also indicated the significant role universities are playing in pushing the excellent movement.
Eng. Khaled Mostafa stressed that the implementation of the internal excellence awards system in government institutions aims to deepen the culture of excellence and enhance the spirit of competitiveness to contribute to the development of human capabilities and bring about a quantum leap in institutional performance to achieve the quality of life of the citizen and enhance the leadership and competitiveness of the Egyptian state.
Moreover, in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Universities, government universities will implement internal awards and work to increase the number of participating universities to reach 15 universities in the second phase; 55% of the total number of Egyptian universities.
Meanwhile, the University President welcomed the attendees, the arbitration committee, and the internal award evaluation team. He then praised the award administration's efforts throughout the previous period.
He stressed the importance of deepening the culture of excellence, reflected in the improvement and development of performance. This is to activate the excellence system in the university.
Furthermore, Dr. Ashraf Abdel Basset stressed the role of the award in stimulating the spirit of positive competition and excellence, raising the level of performance, and winning and real gain not only for those who qualified for the first positions but for everyone who contributed to the implementation of the experience of the internal awards system.
During the arbitration proceedings, the mechanisms adopted to inaugurate the internal awards were reviewed, to which 7 colleges submitted institutional excellence awards and stages of work, beginning with the training stage for ambassadors of excellence and residents, and submission of applications for candidacy, followed by the evaluation stages with the provision of an E-system for managing the evaluation process.
