The Minister of Planning and Economic Development, H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said held a meeting with the Omani Minister of Finance Sultan bin Salim al Habsi, and the Chair of the Oman Investment Authority AbdulSalam Al Murshidi. The meeting was on the sidelines of the Egyptian-Omani Businessmen Forum held today.

The meeting discussed joint investment opportunities between The Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE) and the Oman Investment Authority. It also discussed the most significant projects ready for research and study.

El-Said explained that the historical relationship between Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman enhances trade and investment cooperation. He also explained that there is a genuine wish to expand Omani investment in Egypt in partnership with (TSFE) and several Egyptian private-sector companies.

From his side, His Excellency AbdulSalam Al Murshidi noted an agreement between the Egyptian side and TSFE. Some priority sectors have been identified, including the pharmaceutical industry, food industries, and renewable energy.

He further noted that the evaluation of projects offered for partnership will take place by the end of the third quarter of the current year. In addition, the implementation of joint investments will proceed in the last quarter of the same year.
