NIGSD publishes the 2nd issue of "Governance and Sustainable Development" magazine on environmental governance & climate change

The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, issued the second issue of "Governance and Sustainable Development” magazine on the topic of environmental governance and climate change, and the most prominent results and future steps after COP27 in cooperation with the Economic Governance Project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development and NIGSD’s Chair of the Board of Trustees stressed the scientific importance of the journal, as it is a research platform that encourages Egyptian researchers to publish studies and scientific papers on governance issues and their scientific applications, as well as opens the way for participation by international.
El-Said added that the magazine contributes to spreading the culture of governance and raising citizen awareness of governance issues and principles, establishing transparency and combating corruption, enhancing accountability and accountability, and empowering management, which will reflect positively on the strength and efficiency of institutions, ultimately leading to improving the level of performance and services enjoyed by citizens.
For her part, Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of NIGSD explained that the “Governance and Sustainable Development” magazine is the first research journal specialized in governance issues, as an Egyptian periodical specialized in publishing research related to governance and sustainable development by researchers from Egypt and the world in cooperation with the funded Economic Governance Project.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the institute issued its first issue last September, dealing with the issue of new administrative capital and related issues of governance and sustainable development, noting that the second issue of the magazine included the publication of research papers on the topic of environmental governance and climate change: The most prominent results and future steps after the COP27 climate conference.
The contents of the second issue of "Governance and Sustainable Development" magazine included an interview with Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, as well as a group of articles by a distinguished elite of academics and specialists on the subject of environmental governance and climate change in Egypt and the world.
The topics of the articles were: a strategic vision for climate response policies in Egypt in light of the results of COP27, Reducing carbon from the energy and industry sectors in Egypt, The role of environmental, social, and governance practices in stimulating climate action from a gender perspective, Integration of climate data into the Tourism Opportunity Index: A case study in Nepal, along with mitigation policies.
