On the sidelines of ISDB2023AM:The Minister of Planning and Economic Development witnesses the signing of a partnership agreement to implement the "Export Academy" project

H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, who also acts as Governor of Egypt at the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB), during her participation in the annual meetings of the bank group, witnessed the signing of a partnership agreement between the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (IITFC) and the Foreign Trade Training Center in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Egyptian Exporters Association (EXPOLINK) to implement The "Export Academy" project within the framework of the second phase of the (AfTIAS) 2.0 initiative for trade assistance for Arab countries.
El-Said explained that the strategic objective of the "Export Academy" project is for the academy, through its specialized training programs in export, to increase Egyptian exports and increase economic integration and regional trade between the Arab countries and the targeted African countries.
This is in addition to strengthening efforts to promote national trade and creating new job opportunities for commercial and industrial establishments. This helps increase economic growth.
El-Said added that the academy acts as a platform for business in Egypt, Arab and African countries, by transferring information and expertise to create an effective regional business environment.
She further explained that the project has other objectives that include building export capabilities and skills for a new generation of exporters and entrepreneurs, enhancing the building of export and import capabilities for commercial and industrial institutions, and enhancing their compatibility with market requirements while linking entrepreneurs to global value chains by raising the level of human and technical capabilities and developing them.
El-Said also explained that it is intended to achieve positive results from the project in terms of developing the capabilities of entrepreneurs and owners of commercial and industrial establishments in Egypt and Arab and African countries to increase the rate of exports and raise the rates of trade exchange between these countries and some of them.
El-Said added that among the targeted results of implementing the "Export Academy" project is to train participants and beneficiaries on specialized training programs in the field of approved international trade to increase the number of new exporters and raise their capabilities, knowledge, and skills to be able to find value-added products that are in line with the requirements of export markets.
The tripartite agreement was signed on behalf of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation by Engineer Hani Salem Sonbol, CEO of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AfTIAS Program, and on behalf of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry "Foreign Trade Training Center" by Ms. Mary Kamel, Executive Director.
