Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence Follows Up the Final Arbitration Process of Internal Awards at Benha University

Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence’s operation team chaired by Engineer Khaled Mustafa, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and General Supervisor of the Award and with the participation of Dr. Dalia Sami, Assistant Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities, and Dr. Mohamed Abd Rabbo, Dean of the Institute of Productivity and Quality of the Arab Academy of Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AAST), has made an official visit to Benha University to follow up on the final arbitration process for the University's internal awards, to which 11 colleges have submitted the awards for institutional excellence.
The visit witnessed a meeting with Dr. Gamal Sousa, Head of Benha University. In addition, Dr. Tamer Samir, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. El Sayed Fouda, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development.
H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, said that the launch of the second phase of the internal awards system comes as a continuation of the process of internal excellence and work on implementing the internal awards system in the country’s administrative apparatus.
The launch of the 2nd phase aims to deepen the excellence culture and enhance the competitive spirit. It will contribute to human capabilities development, and improve institutional performance.
The launch also aims to qualify entities to participate in the national award " Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence" in the categories of government colleges, government innovative initiatives, and work teams.
During the meeting, Eng. Khaled Mustafa praised the cooperation of the University leaders and their pioneering role in applying the University's standards of excellence. He also praised its active participation in the excellence journey during the past three National Award sessions.
He also appreciated the efforts of the Internal Excellence and Joint Coordination Team during the internal award system implementation. This was to present the evaluation process results.
Mustafa assured us that universities are one of the most significant development tools in society.
The reason is not only their outstanding and pioneering role in education and scientific research. It is also because they serve as a beacon of knowledge and ideas, according to Mustafa.
He added, "We look forward to supporting different entities in spreading the culture of excellence and quality."
Moreover, Engineer Khaled Mustafa also expressed appreciation for the role of the Supreme Council of Universities as a key partner in implementing and supporting the excellence system within public universities.
For his part, Dr. Gamal Sousa, Head of Benha University, expressed appreciation for the cooperation relationship between the University and the Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence.
Sousa praised the Award's efforts throughout the previous period.
He stressed the importance of deepening the excellence culture reflected in the University's performance and competencies. This is to activate the University's internal excellence system.
The meeting discussed mechanisms for the inauguration of internal prizes and stages of work were reviewed, beginning with the training of ambassadors of excellence and residents and the submission of applications, followed by the evaluation stages with the provision of an E- evaluation management system as well as the presentation of the final results and the concluding recommendations by the chairpersons of the Evaluation and Quality Committee.
