Egypt’s Planning Minister attends MoU signing ceremony between NIGSD & Thunderbird School of Global Management.

H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development who is acting also as Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the National Institute of Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), witnessed the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between NIGSD and the Thunderbird School of Global Management for cooperation in areas related to governance and sustainable development, and human capacity development.
After signing the MoU, Dr. Hala El-Said confirmed that investing in the human element is one of the most critical priorities of the Egyptian state because it is the basis of construction and development.
El-Said explained that the development of human resources has become a cornerstone for achieving future comprehensive development, especially since the human element has been able to prove that it is the primary and effective element in every development plan in any country, so training and qualifying it is a top priority.
El-Said added that there is significant interest in developing the skills of workers in the country's administrative apparatus to benefit from them in many different fields.
This is done through training, courses, and grants, which Egypt strives to make available to them in cooperation with the oldest international and regional training institutions.
For her part, Dr. Sharifa Sherif, Executive Director of NIGSD, said that the institute's role focuses on training, research, and advisory services. This is to enhance Egypt's progress and performance in terms of governance, competitiveness, and sustainable development.
Sherif explained that the cooperation between the NIGSD and the Thunderbird College of Global Management includes several areas such as building and developing human capacities and training, research and academic activities, advisory services, as well as sharing knowledge and networks of professional relationships.
Sherif added that the implementation of this cooperation takes place through holding training and workshops and exchanging information on related activities that are organized by the two parties.
